Chelsea vs Barnsley player ratings
Kai Havertz opened his Chelsea goal-scoring account by netting a hat-trick in the Blues' 6-0 victory over Championship side Barnsley to progress to the fourth-round of the Carabao Cup last night.
The German, after struggling in the Premier League fixtures against Brighton & Hove Albion and Liverpool, moved into his favoured position against Barnsley - the No.10 role - and excelled.
He bagged his first goal of the night just before the half hour mark before claiming a further two strikes after the break.
It earned him rave reviews at the full time whistle, as well as an impressive rating in our player ratings alongside Tammy Abraham.
Timo Werner makes bold admission following Chelsea move
Striker Timo Werner has admitted that he had doubts about having joined Chelsea after watching them bow out of the Champions League last season in devastating fashion to Bayern Munich.
Having lost the first-leg of their last-16 tie all the way back in February, Chelsea travelled to Munich for the second leg in August looking to overcome a three-goal deficit.
However, the Blues were blown away by Bayern's frightening attacking qualities, losing 4-1 on the night and 7-1 on aggregate.
And Werner has now admitted that he had doubts about having joined Chelsea following their Champions League exit.
“I would be lying if I said it wasn't like that," he told SportBild.
"The 3-0 home defeat of Chelsea in the first leg against Bayern hadn't exactly spoken in favour of going to London.
"I have to say that openly, because with Leipzig we always played very good and close games against Bayern."

New date for Palace clash confirmed
The Blues' Premier League showdown with Crystal Palace next month has changed dates, the Premier League announced yesterday.
Chelsea were poised to welcome their London rivals to Stamford Bridge for a 3:00pm kick-off on Saturday, 3 October. Now, though, the contest will get underway at the earlier time of 12:30pm.
That is because the game has been selected for live TV coverage and will be shown live on BT Sport.
