Kai Havertz issues transfer update amid Manchester United links

Kai Havertz insists he is fully focused on finishing the season with Bayer Leverkusen and is not distracted by the reports linking him with Manchester United.

The 20-year-old is one of the most talked about youngsters in European football with recent rumours suggesting United, Liverpool and Barcelona could all make a move at the end of the season.

Havertz netted his second brace in two games at the weekend as he inspired Leverkusen to an impressive 3-1 win over Borussia Monchengladbach in the Bundesliga.

Leverkusen have previously insisted they will not accept anything less than €100million for the creative midfielder this summer, and Havertz insists he does not want to 'mess anything up' by talking about his future.

"I do not like to say, of course, that there is a lot of speculation," Havertz told Sky Germany.

"I'm concentrating on this season and will see what happens afterwards.

"I am very grateful to Leverkusen and I don't want to mess it up in any way."

The brilliant brace from Havertz on Saturday lifted his side up to third in the German top-flight, and the 20-year-old insists his side deserved to win against their rivals for Champions League qualification.

The German international added: "We're happy about the win. We put it on ourselves to win here and we did that.

"We had to really give everything today and I think we deserved to win in the end."
