Kai Havertz helps Chelsea 'gain £14m' as Man United, Tottenham and Arsenal trail

Chelsea have the seventh most valuable squad in the world as the ongoing coronavirus pandemic continues to impact football.

Last season's FA Cup finalists trail the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, and European champions Bayern Munich in the latest figures released by Transfermarkt.

However, one small consolation is that the Blues are calculated to have the most valuable squad in London and also remain ahead of Manchester United.

Arsenal vs Chelsea vs Spurs - Who came out of the transfer window best and more

A few months ago, the overall value of the squad was £746.15m as following the departure of Eden Hazard to Real Madrid in the summer of 2019 the squad value had decreased by approximately £70m.

The latest figures have indicated that the value of Chelsea's squad value has increased by £14.26m since March 2020.

This summer's arrivals of Kai Havertz, Hakim Ziyech, Timo Werner, and Ben Chilwell, in particular, have helped bump the overall market value of Chelsea's squad up to £760.41m.

Havertz has now overtaken N'Golo Kante as the most valuable player in the squad.

The German wonderkid's market value is now £72.90m following his big money move from Bayer Leverkusen, while Kante is joint-second with Werner at £63.00m.

Rounding off the top five is Christian Pulisic (£54.00m) and Jorginho as well as Chilwell (£45.00m).

Liverpool, the reigning champions of England, have been calculated as having the most valuable squad in the world following last month’s arrivals of Thiago Alcantara and Diogo Jota which has helped bump their squad value to £991.08m .

With that said, the Premier League’s spending power is demonstrated with as many as six clubs inside the top 15.
