Kai Cenat shares mental health struggles and why he set up a ‘more personal’ Instagram page

A week after the Streamer Awards 2025, Kai Cenat has revealed his ongoing mental health battles and a “more personal” Instagram account to share what he has been working on over the past few months.

On Dec. 16—on his 24th birthday—Cenat posted a video on X discussing his emotional well-being in recent months. “A few days ago, I spread awareness on mental health and how important it is to take care of yourself,” he said, referring to his speech at the Streamer Awards. “And honestly, for the past few months, I’ve been struggling with mental health out of self-doubt and fear of pursuing goals that I really want to achieve.”

Cenat also opened an Instagram account, which he said will go private later on, to give followers a glimpse into what he’s been working on. Before speaking in detail about his mental health, he emphasized his love for content creation.

“The reason I’ve really been in my head is I just want to do more… I’ve come to realize that I’m a true creator, and I am very passionate about creating, and have other goals and things that I just want to achieve and do more of,” he shared, before announcing his new Instagram handle, “kc3hidd3n.”

“I just want you to let you guys know that sometimes it is important to take care of your mental health, and honestly it’s been getting better,” he added.

While he’s been “getting better,” he admitted that the mental struggles have been “in his head out of frustration and fear.” “I’ve never had this feeling before, but… I just truly want to create,” he said.

“I don’t know if I’m being immature or looking at things from a broad point of view, but I’m so passionate about creating in general,” he added. “I’m excited to show you guys what’s going on.”

Cenat won multiple titles at the Streamer Awards 2025, including Best Streamer Collab, Best Marathon Stream, Best Just Chatting Streamer, and Best Streamed Event. He encouraged viewers and fellow creators to prioritize mental health in a moving speech after accepting the Best Streamer Collab trophy.

The 24-year-old has been on break from streaming since early December, and it appears he plans to take an extended hiatus.
