Isis has said it is behind a suicide bombing and gun attack on a prominent TV station in the Afghan capital Kabul, claiming to have killed as many as 20 security workers and staff.
Officials confirmed a gun battle was still going on inside the compound of the Shamshad TV station after it was attacked by three people including a suicide bomber on Tuesday.
Despite the Isis claim, it was initially unclear from the officials' accounts whether any of the station's staff were killed or wounded.
The jihadist group often inflates reports of its atrocities in propaganda.
Najib Danishe, a spokesman for the interior ministry, said there were three attackers and one was killed by police.
Mr Danishe said at least some of the TV staff were rescued by the police but he did not elaborate.
