Bothwell Scarecrow Festival took a different turn this week when a car was entered into their competition.
The residents of Clyde Avenue were driven to take part in the popular event and produced an eye-catching Lightening McQueen.
Those lucky enough to have spotted the Cars character out on their travels during the festival say it’s a real contender to win.
Paula Macfarlane took to social media to say: “Best scarecrow so far!”
Caroline Marshall posted: “This is the winner ! Brilliant.”
Other popular eye-catching scarecrows have been the recreation of The Beatles Abbey Road album cover and the effigy of North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un.
The Bothwell are currently hosting their ninth annual scarecrow festival with the event ending this weeken.
Last year’s event saw over 450 scarecrows displayed, with 30 events and 30,000 followers making it the biggest yet.
