K-pop star Jackson Wang made fans think he was in Glasgow today

He's one of the biggest stars of the K-pop scene.

And today, Jackson Wang of South Korean boyband Got7 got his army of Glasgow fans all in a flutter when he made them think he was here, in Renfield Street, on a rainy Tuesday in November.

If it had been true, we'd have heard the screams of his loyal supporters reverberating around every corner of this city.

For this Hong Kong rapper, singer and dancer has quite a following across the globe, and there's one or two (there's actually hunners) Glaswegians included in the mix.

The 25-year-old had in reality uploaded a series of snaps to his Instagram stories, to advertise worldwide billboard adverts featuring his collaboration with Rayban.

And one of them is pride of place in Glasgow city centre, prompting rumours to spread like wildfire across social media that he was here in person.

After most of his fans had calmed down and realised that their hero wasn't here after all, they took it pretty well.

But in case you're wondering why there are crowds of excited teenagers under a billboard in Renfield Street over the next wee while, that'll be why.
