K-pop star HyunA gave fans a fright during her performance at Waterbomb 2025 in Macau after she suddenly lost consciousness and collapsed while singing her hit “Bubble Pop.” The incident happened in front of thousands of attendees, turning a high-energy moment into one filled with worry.
As soon as HyunA fell, her backup dancers rushed to her side. Security followed moments later, and one guard carried her off the stage in his arms. The festival halted her set immediately, leaving fans shaken as early clips of the collapse spread online.
The collapse appears to be tied to her recent weight loss. HyunA revealed earlier this year that she had lost 10 kilograms in just one month after rumors circulated about weight gain and a possible pregnancy. This revelation worried many longtime followers, especially given her medical history.
Fans who watched the performance online and in person quickly shared their concern. One wrote, “She’s sweating profusely! She was most likely ill before this performance. I hope she’s ok!” Another commented, “Heat exhaustion. I know from personal experience.” A third added, “10kg in a month is beyond concerning; there isn’t a healthy way to achieve that.”
According to the Korea Times, HyunA has a history of vasovagal fainting, which can happen when heart rate or blood pressure suddenly drops. She has also spoken in the past about other health challenges, including sharp drops in stamina when her weight dips below 45 kilograms.
After being taken offstage, the “I’m Not Cool” singer later addressed fans through her Instagram story, apologizing for the interruption and expressing regret that she couldn’t complete her set. “I’m really sorry. It was a short break between performances, but I wanted to show you my best. I don’t remember anything that happened, and I feel like I wasn’t professional,” she said.
Despite the scare, HyunA is reportedly recovering and focusing on her health. Early updates suggest she is resting and aiming to return to the stage once she fully regains her strength. Fans continue to send well wishes, hoping her next comeback happens only when she feels completely ready.
