K.J. Wright reveals details of new contract with Seahawks

The Seattle Seahawks brought back fan-favorite linebacker K.J. Wright on Thursday, inking the 29-year-old to a two-year, $15 million dollar contract that will keep him with the Seahawks at least through 2019.

Wright joined Jason Puckett and former teammate Cliff Avril on the radio Friday morning, providing more details about his new contract.

Wright is getting a guaranteed $8 million for the 2019 season, with $5 million serving as a signing bonus, $1.5 million in salary and another $1.5 million dollar roster bonus.

The remaining $7 million is non-guaranteed for 2020, so there is no guarantee that Wright will be with Seattle beyond 2019.

“If I can get to the second year, that’d be big,” Wright commented on the radio.

The star linebacker only played in five games last season, but all told he has 744 combined tackles with Seattle dating back to 2011.

He’ll once again line up next to Bobby Wagner, forming a very solid linebacker combination alongside Mychal Kendricks, assuming he is able to play next season.
