K District gardai seize more than €6,000 of cannabis after Clonee residents complain of blatant drug dealing

K District gardai have recovered a large haul of cannabis in Dublin 15 after frustrated residents who suspected a man of blatant drug dealing tipped them off.

More than €6,000 worth of cannabis has been seized and a man subsequently arrested and charged over the haul.

Gardai revealed today that they stopped the alleged drug dealer following complaints from locals in Clonee.

When they searched the man they found around €350 worth of the drug. A follow-up search near Clonsilla uncovered a further €6,000 worth of cannabis.

A post on the Garda Siochana Dublin Facebook page reads: "As a result of complaints by the local community of open drug dealing in the Clonee area members of the K District drug unit carried out an operation in the Clonee area on the 1st May, 2020.

"A male was stopped and found in possession of €350 cannabis. He was arrested and during a follow-up search in the Stonebridge area a further €6,000 worth of cannabis was recovered.

"One male was detained and later charged with possession of controlled drugs for sale or supply."
