K District gardai find over €3,000 worth of illegal tablets after concerns raised by local community

Gardai in Finglas found over €3,000 worth of Zopilcone tablets after concerns were raised by the local community about drug dealing.

The K District community action team searched an address in the Fairlawn estate, and arrested a man after they found the drugs.

He was questioned about the find and later arrested, and will appear in court on a later date after being released on bail.

They said: "As a result of concerns expressed by the local community about drug dealing in the Finglas South area Gardaí from the K District Community Action team (K-Cats) carried out a search of an address in the Fairlawn estate area.

"Zopilcone tablets valued €3,063 were recovered and a stolen moped located in back garden. One male was arrested and later charged with possession of a controlled drug for sale or supply and also obstruction under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

"He was arrested and detained for questioning and later charged for possession of drugs for sale or supply and released on bail."
