Juventus 'want' Nemanja Matic and other Manchester United transfer rumours

Juventus have entered the race to sign Serbian midfielder Nemanja Matic when he leaves Manchester United this summer - according to reports. The 33-year-old started for United against Chelsea on Thursday night but confirmed plans to depart Old Trafford earlier in the month.

Matic did have an option to extend his stay for another 12 months. However, a new challenge awaits as United set their sights on midfield recruits. Key figures in the boardroom had already prioritised that position before Matic opted to leave.

Paul Pogba has also been linked with a move to Turin. However, according to Italian publication Tuttosport (via Inside Futbol ) the current plan is for the Serie A outfit to sign Matic on a free transfer to help along the younger players in their squad.

Further interest in the former Chelsea star comes from a man who knows him well. Jose Mourinho has also been tipped to recruit the player during the upcoming window. Matic has played 21 matches in the Premier League this season and his total appearances for United stands at 187.

Elsewhere, newly-appointed manager Erik ten Hag and United are reported to have made first contact with regards to signing Paulo Dybala for next season. Reported interest in the Juventus forward, 28, has already come to the fore.

However, as the Argentine moves into the final two months of his contract - with no indication of him putting pen to paper on an extension - Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport suggests initial talks are being held between the club and relevant figures responsible for guiding the player.

Dybala has scored 14 goals and provided six assists in 34 games this season. He has been capped 32 times at senior international level since making his Argentina debut way back in 2015.
