Well, we’re going to wrap this blog up now. Juve improve their unbeaten home run in the Champions League to 17, but they’ll have a tough task to go through to the quarter-finals. Bayern remain favorites. Thanks for reading.
It’s finished at the Emirates Stadium:
That was a hugely absorbing match, and you have to give Juve enormous credit. They looked absolutely done, but from somewhere, managed to find two goals and retain an – admittedly slim – interest in the tie. Bayern were brilliant for an hour, and fully deserved their two-goal lead, but found the going tough after Dybala scored. Two-two’s probably a fair result in the circumstances.

Full-time: Juventus 2-2 Bayern
And that’s the whistle. What a game!
90 min + 2: Lewandowski tries to get on to Lahm’s cross, but Sturaro defends well, and Juventus clear.
90 min + 1: Both sides look happy enough with 2-2.
90 min: Neuer fists clear, but it’s crossed from the right from Pogba, headed out, and it falls for Bonucci … but his volley is straight at Neuer! It looked like it might be a repeat of his famous goal against Roma, but he didn’t quite catch it. Neuer saved with ease.
Three added minutes.
89 min: Yellow card for Vidal after a crude foul on Morata, who’s been a handful since his introduction. Chance here from the set piece for Juve, 25 yards from goal, left side.
88 min: Benatia wins it from the corner, but it’s just over.
87 min: Oh, straight across goal from Ribéry! Wonderful wing play from the Frenchman, and he fired it across from the left, but everyone missed it! Hearts in mouths for Juve.
86 min: Robben scampers clear down the right, clear of Evra, but Bonucci does well to clear the cross. Juve cannot concede another here.
85 min: Ribéry and Alaba combine down the left, and from Alaba’s cross, Robben sets up Müller, who spanks it into orbit.
84 min: This has been such an unbelievable transformation. Juventus were crap for an hour, but then Kimmich made a poor clearance, Dybala kept his head, and now it’s a completely different game. For the first time in the match, Bayern are having to defend.
Updated
83 min: Good set-piece chance for Juventus, on the left side. They take it short, and Cuadrado runs at Robben, but the Dutchman did well to win the tackle. From the throw, Morata stands it up, Lichtsteiner helps it back in, and Pogba heads just over! Close.
Franck Ribéry is on for Douglas Costa.
81 min: Now Juve have the bit between their teeth. The home fans have found their voice, and why not: 20 minutes ago their team were dead and buried.
79 min: Morata did really well just then: it was more of a headed cross than a nod-down, but it was perfectly placed, and Sturaro came from deep to beat Kimmich to it. No chance Neuer. What a prescient substitution from Allegri.
Updated
77 min: Well, I don’t know how they’ve managed this, but massive compliments to Juve: Mandzukic played it forward for Morata, who headed powerfully back across goal, and Sturaro arrived to poke home from six yards! What an amazing turnaround.
GOAL! Juventus 2-2 Bayern (Sturaro 76)
Unbelievable! The substitute!
Updated
75 min: Daft foul from Douglas Costa, and Juve can keep the pressure on. Cuadrado look infield for Morata, who opts to shoot rather than give the return pass. Neuer saves comfortably.
73 min: Change for Bayern: Benatia replaces Bernat. So Alaba to left-back, and Benatia to partner Kimmich? Morata is also coming on, for Dybala.
70 min: Twenty minutes for Juve to get another. Realistically, they’re not going to through if they lose tonight. But they’ve perked up significantly after that moribund first half, when they were pretty terrible.
69 min: Yellow card for Lewandowski for a trip on Pogba. A bit soft, but it was a trip.
Updated
68 min: Change for Juve: Sturaro on for Khedira. Juve look much more purposeful, but they’re vulnerable on the break. If they play into midfield and lose it, Robben, in particular, can do damage.
66 min: Mandzukic did well, winning a couple of challenges, and advanced towards the Bayern box before feeding Cuadrado with a lovely disguised pass … but Neuer beats Cuadrado’s shot over the bar! Maybe the Colombian should have gone low. Then Pogba has a go, and it’s just over! Juve finally starting to show some vigor.
65 min: Mandzukic seemed to lead with his head on Lewandowski, foolishly, but Martin Atkinson eschews a card. Cool it, Mario! Thiago’s ball in is cleared. The Juve fans have started making quite a din.
64 min: A bad mistake from Kimmich, but Dybala took it really well. Juve attacked down the right, Pogba crossed, but Kimmich’s clearance was not good, and Mandzukic picked it up, slipped in Dybala – and the little Argentinian just slotted past Neuer. Great finish!

GOAL! Juventus 1-2 Bayern (Dybala 63)
Boy, did Juve need that! Game on!
Updated
61 min: Juventus great Pavel Nedved, in the stands, looks pained. But Robben! How in the world do you stop him doing what he does? You’ll have seen that same goal 10 times from him.
59 min: Juve wanted a free-kick before Robben’s goal, incidentally. They claimed Bonucci was impeded as he was running back, but I think it was six of one and half a dozen of the other. And Robben is just so dangerous in those moments: you know what he’s going to do – cut in on his left peg and wrap his foot around it – but it’s so difficult to stop. He’s been great this game – and so have Bayern.
58 min: Juve trying to rouse themselves, and it’s a corner. Cleared initially, and then Bernat whacks the clearance off Pogba for a Bayern throw.
57 min: A clinical Bayern counter-attack, and Juve are in all sorts of trouble. Kimmich headed clear Cuadrado’s cross, and suddenly Bayern were away: Lewandowski ran at the defence, released Robben down the right, and although his pass was a little overhit, Robben collected it, cut inside, feinted past Barzagli, and bent it with his left foot past Buffon. Classic Robben – but it was brilliant! Juve are on the floor.
GOAL! Juventus 0-2 Bayern (Robben 55)
And that’s surely game over.
Updated
53 min: Oh, a poor ball from Cuadrado to stop a dangerous counter-attack. Juventus had players in support, including Dybala and Pogba, but the pass was rotten. Madon!
51 min: Alaba fires one from distance, but it’s over the bar.
Bayern have made 381 passes in this game. Juve? 139.
50 min: Well, that was strange. Lewandowski went down the right, and it twice looked as though he’d run it out of play, and everyone stopped … but the linesman said play on! So Lewandowski crossed, but fortunately for Juve, Cuadrado was in the right place to clear.
48 min: Pogba shows nice feet to get by Robben, but his long cross for Lichtsteiner is overhit. More positive from Juventus, though.
47 min: Evra goes down the left, and crosses, but Neuer plucks it from the sky. Juventus have to play on the front foot in this second period. “The tactics were completely wrong from Max Allegri in the first half,” says Stewart Robson on commentary.
We're back
46 min: And a change for Juve: Hernanes is on for Marchisio, which makes sense: Hernanes is a better passer, and Juventus need to get on the ball.
Bayern have been very impressive, but that was a disappointing 45 from Juventus. They’re a better team than that – they barely managed to get out of their own half. Dybala, Pogba and Cuadrado showed some nice touches, but it’s been much too hesitant from the hosts. The plan for the second half? Push up, go long, and show some enthusiasm. The tie isn’t over, but if they lose here it’s hard to see a way back.
Half-time at Arsenal. Catch up on the first 45 minutes here:
That was Müller’s sixth Champions League goal of the season, and his 25th in all competitions. What a player he is. And he’s got skinny legs!
Well, Juventus were just a couple of minutes away from going in level, but they just couldn’t keep Bayern out, and the pressure told, finally. Müller’s finish was superb, and Bayern deserve to be ahead: they’ve been excellent, but they’ve been helped by some extremely defensive tactics from Juve, who haven’t been able to push up and get out of their penalty box.
Half-time: Juventus 0-1 Bayern
And that’s the whistle.
45 min: Whistles from the home fans as Dybala went down under pressure from Vidal, but no penalty. One minute of stoppage time.
44 min: Khedira was dispossessed, and Robben was away down the right, taking defenders with him. His cross was too long, but Costa returned it with interest, Barzagli tried to clear, but it fell kindly for Müller, who just placed it, accurately, past Buffon from 12 yards. A deserved goal for Bayern, and now Juve have it all to do.
Updated
GOAL! Juventus 0-1 Bayern (Müller 43)
It had been coming!
Updated
42 min: Much more positive from Juventus. Pogba drove forward, and released Dybala, whose cross was cut out by Alaba for the hosts’ first corner. A disappointing ball in, and Bayern clear, but much, much better from Pogba and Dybala.
41 min: Robben’s header! Couldn’t get the direction, though, and it’s a goal kick. Actually, I think it came off his shoulder.
39 min: We’ve not seen much of Khedira: he just hasn’t had the chance to make those forward runs into the penalty area. Robben is close to finding an opening on the right, and then Costa goes down the left. Lichtsteiner, under pressure, concedes the corner.
37 min: Pogba looks crossfield for Cuadrado, but it’s just a little overhit. That’s a better option for Juventus, though: they have to try going a little more direct. As soon as they play into midfield, Bayern just win it back.
35 min: Relentless Bayern pressure. Juventus just can’t get the ball off them.
34 min: Juventus give it away, but immediately fall back behind the ball. It’ll be a huge win if they can get through the half-time without conceding.
Here’s Ashwin Singh: “Cuadrado actually looks good here, like a Willian double! Is it just the hair, I wonder?”
Yeah, he’s been effective when he’s got on the ball – but he’s had to do so much defensive work. Very little going in attack for Juventus.
32 min: Bayern free kick, left side, and Thiago takes … but Lewandowski’s header is straight at Buffon! Gorgeous delivery, inswinging, and Lewandowski got free, but couldn’t get the angle to direct it wide of the keeper. A chance, though.
31 min: It’s a little like attack v defence at the moment. Lahm has come to play in central midfield. And Buffon denies Bernat! It came all the way through to the left-back, up in support, but he had to hit it with his right, and didn’t quite get the connection. Buffon saved comfortably enough, although it looked for a minute as though it was going to squirm through.
28 min: Müller looks for his partner, Lewandowski, but it’s cleared by Barzagli. Juve defending with determination.
26 min: This has been a really entertaining game so far. Mandzukic has had two decent chances, but Bayern have been relentless. Juve aren’t quite clinging on yet, but they’re under serious pressure.
25 min: Bayern’s team is noticeably smaller than Juve’s, and Marchisio heads clear. But back come Bayern, and again, Kimmich and Alaba are playing like orthodox central midfielders when they have the ball. Very impressive to watch.
24 min: Oh, Dybala was almost in! A long ball for Dybala, but he just couldn’t bring it under his spell, and Alaba got back to recover. Bayern’s weakness on display just then: they press so high that they’re vulnerable to the ball in behind.
At the other end, Douglas Costa wins a corner.
23 min: Robben with a fizzer! It bounced up, and he hit through it from the edge of the box, but just over the bar. No touch from Buffon, and it’s a goal kick.
Updated
22 min: Juve’s first spell of possession in Bayern’s half, but Pogba’s touch gets away from him, and Bayern break, three versus three. Lewandowski’s ball, not for the first time, is wayward, and Juve escape.
21 min: Marchisio’s ball in, and Bonucci’s header, but he can’t get the power, and it’s straight through to Neuer.
20 min: Quick feet from Cuadrado to go past Douglas Costa, and Cuadrado wants a yellow card shown. Martin Atkinson accedes, but I think he’s a bit unlucky there, Costa: there wasn’t much contact. Decent position for the cross.
18 min: “It’s going to be a long night for Juventus if they’re going to carry on playing this way,” says Stewart Robson, and quite right: Juve have to find some kind of attacking outlet.
Updated
16 min: Alaba and Kimmich are so high here. Alaba was playing halfway inside Juve’s half just then! What a dream of a footballing centre-back. You wouldn’t catch Andy Linighan doing that.
Yep, had Lewandowski’s pass been better just now, Müller would have scored. Juve are finding life difficult.
Updated
15 min: Bayern with 77% of possession so far. 77!
14 min: Oh, how did Bayern not score?! Bayern cut Juve open then: Lahm rampaged, it fell kindly for Lewandowski, who rolled it across for Müller, but he couldn’t sort his feet out! It looked a certain goal for Bayern, but actually Lewandowski’s pass wasn’t the best, and Müller had to stop to collect it. Bonucci just about got back in time to clear, but Bayern are purring.
12 min: Chance for Mandzukic! Great play from Pogba, who picked up Vidal’s sloppy pass and released Dybala on the left, but his cross was a yard in front of his partner, and Mandzukic couldn’t reach it. Much better from Juve, though.
10 min: For a side in such good form, it’s intriguing to see Juventus begin in such defensive fashion. They really are allowing Bayern to dominate. Robben has been prominent, but this time it’s Lahm who goes into the box – his cross can’t find Müller, though. Juve boot it clear, but no one is forward, and Bayern just pick it up and start again.
8 min: Bayern have started really positively. Juve have all their players back behind the ball. Costa shimmies to go past Cuadrado on the left, and absolutely smashes it across goal, but Juve just about hustle it clear. The home side are extremely deep.
6 min: First spell of possession for Juve, but that’s a bad giveaway from Lichtsteiner, and Lewandowski is nearly in, but he can’t find Müller. Incidentally, Lewandowski wanted a penalty a couple of minutes ago, and he might have got it: replays showed Bonucci had a handful of the Bayern striker’s shirt! No call, though. Hugely risky from Bonucci.
4 min: Vidal from range, and that’s a super effort: a true volley from the Chilean, from 25 yards, and it was moving in the air, but Buffon got firm hands to it to beat it away. Robben’s follow-up cross is too high.
3 min: Stewart Robson on commentary thinks Robben could really worry Evra on the right-hand side, especially since Pogba has tucked into midfield. Bayern monopolising possession in these early minutes; they’ve already pushed up to the halfway line.
And we're off!
1 min: A little late, I think! Surprising for the usually on-time Champions League. Juventus in black and white; Bayern all in red.
And an early chance for Mandzukic! A long clearance from Bonucci, I think it was, and Bayern’s defence was nowhere! The Croatian got beyond Alaba, and it sat up nicely for him to hit, but his left-foot shot was really tame. That was a chance! Just 30 seconds gone.

There’s that famous Champions League music! British composer Tony Britten wrote it in 1992, with a nod to George Friedrich: “There’s a rising string phase which I pinched from Handel, and then I wrote my own tune,” Britten told the Croydon Advertiser. “It has a kind of Handelian feel to it but I like to think it’s not a total rip-off.”
We’re about 10 minutes away.

Thomas Hitzlsperger, the 52-cap former Germany midfielder who’s now working as a TV pundit, makes a nice point about Bayern’s attacking trio of Robben, Lewandowski and Douglas Costa: “They’re the best front three on this planet – knowing that Barcelona’s front three are on another planet.”
Juventus haven’t conceded in their last nine matches in all competitions. Thomas Müller scored two against Darmstadt, one a brilliant volley, and Robert Lewandowski got his 22nd of the season in the same game. Can Bayern pierce Juve’s immovable defensive types?

Breaking news: broomstick robber foiled
Bayern’s attempted blackmailer has been charged. The man known as the “broomstick robber” has been charged with blackmail for allegedly trying to force Bayern Munich to part with millions in cash and diamonds by using bomb threats.
Read more here:
Juventus line up as we’d anticipated: 4-4-2, with Mario Mandzukic preferred to Alvaro Morata up front. Giorgio Chiellini is out, so Andrea Barzagli plays in central defence, while Sami Khedira and Juan Cuadrado are in. Expect big things from Paulo Dybala.
Bayern have been totally Pep-ped, and begin with a zany defensive line-up in the absence of Boateng and Badstuber: Joshua Kimmich and David Alaba pair up in the middle, meaning Bayern’s defence has an average height of 5ft 7in! Vidal, formerly of Juve, is preferred to Xabi Alonso in midfield , and Arjen Robben and Douglas Costa begin on the flanks.

Remember, if Arsenal v Barcelona is more your thing, Barry Glendenning has all the action from norf London here:
Hello and welcome
Juventus are in top form, are first in Serie A, and have won 15 of their last 16 matches – but they’re the underdogs in this alluring last 16 match-up. That’s because this Bayern Munich team, like is exceptional. The Bavarians have the world’s premier coach, a princely passing style, and a slew of world-class performers, two of whom, crucially, are now fit and raring to go: Arjen Robben and Franck Ribéry have come back after injury to join Müller, Lewandowski, Neuer and the rest. This is a Bayern side replete with precision, pace and the occasional gleaming forehead.
Some say Bayern have slowed up since their autumnal best, but their record in the Bundesliga remains supreme: 19 wins from 22 games, 56 goals, just 11 conceded. They simply keep on winning. They breezed through the Champions League group stages, thrashing Arsenal 5-1 in November, and we just know Guardiola wants to win a Big Cup in Germany before moving into Manuel Pellegrini’s Alderley Edge mansion. Juventus, the brilliance of Buffon, Pogba and Dybala notwithstanding, have it tough.
A delicious prospect in store, though: the best Tuesday-night entertainment in ages. Kick off’s at 8.45pm local time, 7.45pm GMT, 2.45pm ET. Join us!
