Juventus urged to make surprise transfer decision amid links with Tottenham striker Harry Kane

Juventus have been told to sign Manchester City’s Gabriel Jesus ahead of Tottenham’s Harry Kane this summer.

Speculation has begun to emerge from Italy in recent weeks claiming Juve are keen on bringing Kane to the Serie A this summer.

The Spurs and England skipper suffered a hamstring injury in the league defeat to Southampton on New Year's Day, and has been sidelined since.

Kane was hopeful of making a return in time to feature for Gareth Southgate’s side in this summer’s Euro 2020 tournament, but due to the coronavirus outbreak bringing football to a standstill, that tournament has been cancelled until next summer by UEFA.

And although former Juve forward Luca Toni is a fan of the 26-year-old Spurs striker, he would rather see the Serie A champions sign Jesus ahead of Kane, Mauro Icardi, Timo Werner or Erling Braut Haaland.

“He is quick, technical, provides assists,” Toni told Italian publication Tuttosport, as quoted by Mirror Football.

“Of these strikers, Manchester City's Brazilian is less a central striker.

"But he would be more suitable to play with Cristiano Ronaldo. CR7 is not a pure centre-forward, but is someone who scores more and has to score more goals.

"A true striker, like for example Kane who is believed is the best under 30, is not certain to work wonders with Cristiano Ronaldo.

"I see Gabriel Jesus as being much better. He scores but also provides lots of assists (18 goals, nine assists) opens space for his team-mates, he presses and he is only 22.”

Toni also rated Kane as a 9/10 as a forward and believes Jesus is 8.5, Icardi 8, Haaland 7.5 and Werner 7.

“Kane is the best,” he added.

“He is a real centre-forward, he looks great, he occupies the penalty area like few others: he is technically adept, plays well with a team and above all he is lethal close in. He scores loads. And at 26 he still has room for improvement.”
