Juventus told what Rangers and Celtic can teach the Turin giants after Serie A failure

Former Kilmarnock boss Angelo Alessio insists clubs such as Juventus can learn from the battling spirit of Rangers and Celtic.

Alessio enjoyed successful spells with the Turin giants and Chelsea alongside Antonio Conte before his ill-fated spell in Ayrshire in 2019.

Despite bring sacked less than six months into the season at Rugby Park, the Italian still looks back on his time in Scotland fondly.

He believes there is plenty that Serie A clubs can pick up from the Premiership including the end-to-end "intensity" of the game.

When asked by Italian Ilposticipo if there was anything Juventus could learn from the Glasgow giants after they failed to lift the title this term, he said: "Yes, even if the Scottish championship is another story altogether.

"Celtic and Rangers alone have economic power and 60,000 spectators.

"The other clubs collect the crumbs. I remember the great availability of the players and their spirit.

"It is a vertical football, which rests on the first striker, usually very high: this is how almost everyone plays, except Celtic and Rangers who have important players.

"They never feel defeated, they fight to the end, they have a fighting spirit.

"The intensity of the game is high, also because the referees whistle little. Kilmarnock has 45,000 inhabitants, it is a quiet city.

"I am very pleased to have left a good memory."
