Cristiano Ronaldo is too expensive for Juventus, and needs to be sold in the upcoming summer transfer window.
That's the verdict of former Juve president Giovanni Gigli, who thinks the club made a mistake by signing him.
Ronaldo signed from Real Madrid in a deal worth £88million back in 2018 with the intent of helping the Italian giants win the Champions League.
But he will now be 37 years of age by the time the next Champions League final is played, and he is running out of time to win the competition again.
Ronaldo's contract runs out in 2022, and Juventus officials admitted on Wednesday night that they aren't currently looking to offer him a new deal, with reports suggesting they will rebuild the squad around younger players.

He currently makes a reported £540,000-per-week, significantly more than any other Juventus player.
And Gigli thinks Ronaldo is simply too expensive for the club to afford, and that Juve simply need to let him go.
He also tore into Juventus president Andrea Agnelli's decision-making, saying he needs to make big changes behind the scenes.

When asked by Radio Punto Nuovo if he felt Juventus was the wrong club for Ronaldo, Gigli said: "Absolutely, yes! I said that on his very first day at Juventus.
"He is a great champion but is too expensive.
“Now it's up to Juventus. They've been paying him €1m per goal.
"[Juve president Andrea] Agnelli must be self-critical, but he doesn't have great collaborators.
“The club should free Ronaldo at the end of the season and the same goes for [Fabio] Paratici [Juventus Chief Football Director].
"Maybe Agnelli had promoted him to remove him from his position afterwards. This could be the scenario.”
