Juventus to rival Man United for £55m star, Atletico Madrid's £100m transfer - European rumours

The transfer gossip mill keeps on turning, and in Europe, there’s no exception.

As Europe’s elite draw up their transfer targets in time for the new season, an abundance of star names enter the radar.

Whether they’re already royalty or up and coming stars, the biggest clubs in world football are leaving no stone unturned in the pursuit of fresh talent to bolster their squads.

Here are the hottest rumours coming from around the continent.

Joao Felix eyes up Atletico

Manchester United and Manchester City look set to miss out on Portuguese wonderkid Joao Felix, with Atletico Madrid swooping in and becoming clear favourites to sign the 19-year-old.

A report from Marca suggests that Atletico are on the verge of signing one of football’s hottest young talents, despite United and City attempting to bring him to Manchester earlier in the window.

United were especially keen on making the deal happen, but reportedly did not want to pay over £100 million for his signature.

However, it appears Los Rojiblancos don’t mind - with a fee of up to £106.7 million being offered to Benfica for his services.

AC Milan pursue Arsenal’s Torreira

According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, AC Milan remain in the hunt for Arsenal star Lucas Torreira despite contradicting reports that they’ve abandoned the chase.

The rumours also claim that the Uruguayan isn’t content with life In England, and would happily move back to Italy and reunite with his former manager.

However, Milan will need to offer upwards of £35 million to persuade Arsenal to sell - a price tag the Rossoneri are uncomfortable paying.

Sarri wants Higuain to remain

Juventus boss Maurizio Sarri has suggested that there is no possibility of striker Gonzalo Higuain extending his time at Chelsea.

The Italian has also hinted that Higuain did not enjoy his time in England and would happily return to Juve, according to reports from the Daily Mail.

Chelsea did have the option to buy for £31.3 million, despite a transfer ban, but Sarri insists Higuain himself will want to return.

The Argentine hitman managed five goals in 13 league appearances for the Blues.

Juventus plan Wan-Bissaka transfer steal

Italian outlet Corriere di Torino have claimed Juventus are planning to hijack Man United’s deal for full-back Aaaron Wan-Bissaka in a last minute coup.

Negotiations between Wan-Bissaka and United are well under-way according to reports, but Sarri’s admiration for the English defender may inspire the Italian champions to enter the race for his signature.

Crystal Palace currently value him at £55 million, having won the club’s Player of the Year award in an outstanding individual campaign.
