Juventus star Miralem Pjanic 'listened to Chelsea offer' amid Barcelona interest

Miralem Pjanic has listened to an offer from Chelsea with his Juventus future still uncertain, according to reports in Italy.

The Bosnian midfielder has been heavily linked with the exit door at the Allianz Stadium.

Barcelona are thought to be keen on the midfielder with a potential swap deal featuring Arthur touted.

But Chelsea are also keen on Pjanic and are looking to make up for lost time having been unable to sign anyone last summer due to a transfer ban.

The Blues are looking to add experience to their midfield despite Frank Lampard already having a host of options in that area.

The west Londoners have made contact with Pjanic, reports Corriere dello Sport, with the 30-year-old accepting his time in Italy may be coming to an end.

He has continued to be a regular under Maurizio Sarri but is eyeing a switch to Barcelona.

Complications exist due to Arthur's reluctance to move the other way while PSG are also tracking him.

Should Pjanic move to Chelsea it may lead to suggestions that Jorginho's time at Stamford Bridge is up, such is his history with Sarri.

But the former Napoli man is thought to be very happy at the Blues.

He is currently battling with N'Golo Kante and Matteo Kovacic for a midfield berth.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek has been injured for much of the campaign and is another option for Lampard while youngster Billy Gilmour showed his potential shortly before the season was put on hold.

Chelsea have already splashed the cash with Hakim Ziyech joining from Ajax.

A deal for RB Leipzig's Timo Werner is also expected to be announced sooner rather than later.
