Juventus star admits they 'continue to miss' Cristiano Ronaldo after Manchester United transfer

Juventus star Danilo insists that Juventus will not suffer from a Cristiano Ronaldo hangover after the Portugal captain left for Manchester United in the summer.

The Brazilian full-back becomes the latest player from the Old Lady to speak out following the 36-year-old's departure, albeit in friendlier terms than fellow defenders Leandro Bonucci and Giorgio Chiellini.

Massimiliano Allegri's side have enjoyed a resurgence of late, after suffering from a stuttering start in light of Ronaldo's exit, but still find themselves 14 points off the pace in Serie A, down in eighth position.

On the other hand, the Manchester United man has found himself shining in an otherwise struggling side at Old Trafford, with the veteran striker pulling out a number of late goals to salvage points — although pressure on manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer continues to bubble.

Unbeaten in the Champions League, Juventus have enjoyed their European exploits — a piece of silverware that evaded Ronaldo during his time in Turin — with a 100 per cent record ahead of the final two group stage matches.

And Danilo insists it's natural that any team would yearn for Ronaldo's talents after he'd left.

“Any team would miss Cristiano Ronaldo and all the sides he left have suffered his absence,” he told Goal Brasil via Football Italia.

“The years go by and he remains dominant. With him, every chance is a goal, the numbers don’t lie and he is extremely competitive.

“I learned a great deal from playing with Ronaldo at Juve, we still talk today and wish each other good luck before games, every now and then.

“We will continue to miss him, of course, but Juventus have the capacity and the DNA to get back on track even without Ronaldo and achieve victories with hard work and sacrifice. And Cristiano knows that.”
