Juventus are looking to offer Aaron Ramsey in negotiations as they look to bring Paul Pogba back to Italy.
The Manchester United midfielder is into the final 12 months of his deal at Old Trafford and is yet to pen an extension.
On several occasions during his time in England the World Cup winner has been linked with a move away from the Red Devils.
Juventus were his last club and first allowed Pogba to showcase his talents, although a report last month seemed to distance them from any swoop.
Ramsey has been unable to make a consistent impact at the Bianconeri following his free transfer from Arsenal in 2019.
Persistent injury problems and gripes with training have been an issue for both parties and the Italian side are now ready to cut their losses, reports the Daily Mail.
If Juventus want to sign Pogba then they would have to get Ramsey's wages off the bill and offering him in a swap deal is now an option in January.
The Welshman only started 13 times in Serie A last term and two of his three appearances this season have come from the bench.
Pogba, who has been a regular for United, was quizzed on his future whilst away with France recently.
He told Sportmediaset : "I always speak to my former team-mates, such as Paulo [Dybala].
"I'm in Manchester, I still have a year left on my contract and then we'll see. I want to finish the season strongly and then we'll see what happens."
Pogba did add however that he was happy in Turin.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has continued to back his player throughout his tenure despite several public incidents.
His agent Mino Raiola has been allowed to speak freely and has talked up a move away from Manchester.

Only last month he told Italian TV channel Rai Sport : "Pogba's contract expires next year. We will talk to Manchester (United) and see.
"For sure Turin has remained in his heart and he cares a lot about these things. The possibility of returning to Juventus is there but it also depends on Juve."
There has been talk of Pogba still extending its deal after United continued to bolster their ranks.
Not since the 2017 Europa League final has the 28-year-old lifted a trophy in Manchester but the arrivals of Cristiano Ronaldo, Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane have led to increased optimism that the club are heading in the right direction.
