Juventus offer Chelsea three players in Jorginho swap and Jude Bellingham transfer admission

Here is the Chelsea morning digest on Sunday, May 31.

Chelsea offered three players in Jorginho discussions

Chelsea have reportedly been offered three players in some form of swap deal for midfielder, Jorginho, who is wanted by former Chelsea and current Juventus manager, Maurizio Sarri.

Per Catalan newspaper Sport, Juventus have offered Chelsea a pick of Douglas Costa, Adrien Rabiot and Federico Bernadeschi in place of Jorginho, all of which are not set to be a part of Sarri’s plans in Turin.

Chelsea might be most interested in Costa as they look set to lose Willian and Pedro in the summer as the veterans’ contracts expire at the end of the season, however Rabiot, at just 25, offers the greatest long-term value and could fill the midfield hole that Jorginho leaves behind.

Jorginho, meanwhile, excelled under Sarri at Napoli and then followed the Italian to Stamford Bridge in 2018. However, with N’Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic and now Billy Gilmour manning the central midfield positions, Frank Lampard may look to offload Jorginho in an attempt to bolster other positions.

Icardi secures PSG move

Mauro Icardi is set to sign with French champions Paris Saint-Germain after a successful loan spell at the Parc des Princes this season.

Inter Milan, his parent club, and PSG agreed upon a €50 million initial fee with €7 million in add-ons, per The Guardian. Icardi was not always a first-team regular this season and is renowned for his troublesome character off the pitch, but he has been prolific on it. This season, he scored a staggering 20 goals in 1,958 minutes in all competitions.

One interesting nugget is the non-Serie clause written into the deal. Should PSG sell Icardi to a Serie A that isn’t Inter Milan, they will have to pay Inter a £13.5 million premium.

Of course, his future, for now, remains in the French capital, but should Icardi look elsewhere, that could offer an advantage to Chelsea and other Premier League clubs in their search for an elite goalscorer.

Birmingham boss makes Bellingham admission

Birmingham City manager, Pep Clotet, has warned that there will be more interest in and rumour surrounding teenage sensation Jude Bellingham this summer if and when the Championship concludes in the coming months.

Both Chelsea and Manchester United have been linked with moves for the 16-year-old, who has made an incredible 32 Championship appearances this season despite his youth. Yet, Clotet claims that there will be ‘more speculation’ surrounding Bellingham’s future when play is resumed.

“Because of the current situation we have now, we possibly think we'll be competing and playing games until July,” Clotet told Sky Sports. “We are very focused on the present and there's so much uncertainty in this situation that it's very difficult to start thinking about next season.

“What I'm very happy about now is that Jude is here with us and all the players are here with us as well. We focus on that really, but I understand there's going to be more speculation when the games do come back.”
