Juventus 'offer' Arsenal £25m plus two first-team stars in mega Gabriel Magalhaes swap deal

Juventus have been heavily linked with a move for Arsenal Gabriel Magalhaes during the summer transfer window.

According to Italian outlet CalcioMercatoWeb, the Serie A giants are preparing to offer the Gunners £25 million, plus midfielder Adrien Rabiot on a permanent deal and playmaker Arthur Melo on loan. football.london reported earlier this year that the north Londoners were keen to sign Arthur on loan during the January transfer window, although a move failed to materialise and reports linking the Brazilian with a move to Mikel Arteta's side have since cooled down.

However, considering Arsenal paid £23million for Gabriel less than two years ago, it seems unlikely that they would accept such an offer for the talented centre-back who has been one of the most consistent players during Arteta's time as manager. The Brazilian international established a solid partnership with fellow defender Ben White during the 2021/22 campaign whilst William Saliba's return following his loan stint with Marseille will help shore up Mikel Arteta's defensive setup next term.

football.london understands that the Gunners are still keen to bolster the left side of their defence, although arrivals may depend on the ability to offload a number of fringe players in the coming weeks. The likes of Hector Bellerin, Lucas Torreira and Bernd Leno all have less than 12 months remaining on their contracts at the Emirates Stadium and none of the three appears likely to get considerable game time if they stay at Arsenal next season.

Tough-tackling midfielder Torreira has even confirmed that a move back to Serie A would appeal to him, admitting that Jose Mourinho's AS Roma are an attractive proposition. Speaking to Punto Penal, via The Mirror, about his future, he said: “Roma is a possibility for me.

"I spoke with Mourinho a while ago, he’s a coach I admire a lot." He added: "It’s an opportunity that appeals to me very much.

"But it’s not easy.”
