Juventus have produced a four-man shortlist as they eye a new midfielder with Paul Pogba not on their radar, according to reports.
The Italian giants are in the midst of a rebuild having lost Cristiano Ronaldo and bought Massimiliano Allegri back to the dugout in Turin.
Pogba is into the final 12 months of his deal at Manchester United and has been linked with a return to the Serie A outfit.
The Frenchman spent four years at Juventus after leaving Old Trafford on a free in 2012.
But the Bianconeri have their sights set on his compatriot Aurelien Tchouameni, who continues to impress at Monaco.

Their is no shortage of interest in the 21-year-old, who has already been capped by Les Blues.
However ESPN report that Juventus have made an early move for Tchouameni, who will be allowed to leave Monaco for between €40m - €45m.
Should they fail in that pursuit however alternatives have been lined up with Borussia Dortmund's Axel Witsel and Borussia Monchengladbach's Denis Zakaria among them.
Both players will be out of contract in the summer making them attainable targets.
