Juventus join Inter Milan in race for Manchester United flop Alexis Sanchez; Liverpool dealt massive transfer blow; Arsenal rejected Suarez deal - Latest transfer gossip

Sanchez future

The Independent report that Inter Milan face competition from Juventus for Alexis Sanchez's signature.

Sanchez has proved to be an expensive flop in his 18 months at Manchester United following a costly move from Arsenal.

The Old Trafford club desperately want to offload the Chilean this summer but so far his wages have so far proved an issue.

Inter and Juve are both said to be interested, provided that Sanchez drops his financial demands or United subsidise his wages.

Liverpool set for quiet summer

David Ornstein says he is not expecting much business at Liverpool this summer.

He told BBC Radio 5 Live Sport: “There’s not a lot of money left. Any spending will be below the fees that they spent on Shaqiri last summer, a fee of around £13m.

“The interest in Julian Brandt is not going to come to fruition this summer.

“There was previously interest in him, the window before they signed Mohamed Salah in 2017.

“He didn’t want to play second fiddle then and the situation would be worse for him now.

“The same case with Timo Werner. We’re looking at around £20m for these players plus four or five-year contracts and agents fees.

“It’s not going to happen. It’s going to be a low-key summer for Liverpool.”

Arsenal rejected Suarez

Football.London report that Arsenal rejected Denis Suarez a year before his disastrous loan move to the Emirates.

Arsenal were one of a number of Premier League clubs given the chance to sign the midfielder on loan midway through the 2017/18 season.

Yet, Arsene Wenger opted against the deal, with the Gunners doubting what sort of impact he could make on a short-term basis.

The decision has been vindicated, with Suarez's loan proving to be a waste of wages and loan fee.
