Juventus 'give up' on deal to sign Manchester United star Paul Pogba and more transfer rumours

Juventus don't like their chances of signing Paul Pogba in the summer, according to reports.

The Manchester United midfielder's contract is set to expire at the end of the season and he can begin pre-contract negotiations with clubs outside of England from January 1.

The usual suspects - Juventus, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain, continue to be the three teams strongly linked with Pogba but the Italians appear to have forfeited the race.

CaughtOffside report that while the Old Lady would love to bring Pogba back to Turin, their current financial situation means it would likely be very difficult, especially considering the competition.

The Frenchman initially left United as a free agent in 2012 for Juventus and enjoyed a massively successful four-year stint there before United splashed out £80million to bring him back to Old Trafford.

While Pogba would be available on a free, his wages, signing bonus and agent fees would still make any move incredibly expensive and it's reported that Juve now need to move players on before they can bring new ones in.

A senior Juventus official is cited as saying on the club signing Pogba: “We don’t think it is going to be possible now. Keep an eye on PSG and Real Madrid.”

It's added that Juventus' inability to sell Aaron Ramsey is hampering their ability to make a move for Pogba as well.

Meanwhile, Newcastle are the favourites to sign Donny van de Beek from United next year, according to a report.

The Sun look at the Dutchman's future and claim Eddie Howe's side will revive their past interest in a move for him as early as the January transfer window.

Van de Beek remains committed to United but will look to leave the club if he doesn't see a significant increase in playing time soon.
