Juventus eye Paul Pogba return, Inter want Christian Eriksen - latest European rumours

Clubs around the continent are gearing themselves up for a hectic month of business.

Some of Europe’s top teams will no doubt look to bolster their side this month, in a bid to ensure a strong finish to the season.

Here’s a round-up of the latest transfer news, rumours and gossip from across the continent.

Juve want Pogba return

Juventus want Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba to return to Italy, according to Italian outlet CalcioMercato .

The 26-year-old World Cup winner has seen his signature attract a wealth of speculation heading into 2020, despite Ole Gunnar Solskjaer insisting he remains an integral part of his squad.

However, Pogba, who publicly admitted his desire to leave in the summer amidst links with Real Madrid, is now attracting the interest of Juventus, who are keen to bring the midfielder back to the club he left in 2016.

Inter join race for Eriksen

Inter Milan are the latest club to express an interest in signing Christian Eriksen - with the Tottenham playmaker now free to negotiate a deal with clubs overseas.

The 27-year-old is expected to leave Spurs when his contract expires in the summer, with Manchester United continually linked with the Dane.

But in the last few days, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus have also emerged as options for Eriksen, while the Daily Mail is now reporting that Inter are hoping to capture the midfielder either now or in the summer.

Napoli and Ajax to target Vertonghen

Another Tottenham man who could be on the move this month is Jan Vertonghen with both Napoli and Ajax set to launch bids.

Vertonghen, like Eriksen, has now entered the final six months of his contract at Spurs, meaning foreign clubs are now permitted to speak to him and discuss a pre-contract ahead of next season.

Napoli failed with a summer bid for the Belgium international, but the Telegraph reports that the Serie A club have revived their interest, while Ajax are believed to be keen on bringing the defender back to Holland.
