Juventus president Andrea Agnelli has admitted to considering Pep Guardiola as the club's manager.
The Spanish coach has reaffirmed his commitment to current employers Man City following news of the two-year Champions League ban, but speculation has linked him with the Serie A club.
Many believe the ban would force Guardiola to seek a fresh challenge elsewhere, particularly if City were to win the competition this season.
Having won titles in England, Germany and Spain, Guardiola could be tempted by a switch to Italy, with Juventus an enticing prospect.
But Agnelli conceded that even if Guardiola did fancy a stint in Turin, it would be difficult to appoint him any time soon.
"It is heresy to say that you don't think of Guardiola, but you have to evaluate the moment you are in, like any professional," Agnelli told Radio24 (via Goal). "If someone is happy where he is, it is difficult to move."
Juve are hardly in need of a managerial change at present, with boss Maurizio Sarri leading the side to the top of the Serie A table.
Juve sit just a point ahead of chasing Lazio as they bid to win their ninth successive league title.
But Agnelli insists the Italian's position is safe, and the club are not planning to cut his contract short.
"We are very happy with Sarri," he added. "Things are set up for three years, the strength of his ideas will come with their continuation in time, and this is the priority.
"The first half of the season has been excellent, we are first in the standings and we passed the Champions League group stage in first.
"I will evaluate the season at the end, thinking that I can win in February is foolish, but being first today is a good starting point."
Meanwhile Guardiola made it pretty clear his ambition to stay with City despite the impending ban, which the club plans to appeal.
Speaking last week, he said: "I want to stay, I want to help the club, if it is possible, to maintain this level as long as possible.
"Why should I leave? I said before, I love this club."
Since then Guardiola suggested he was even open to extending his current deal beyond 2021, but added: “For now I want to stay focused on the next three months, we have to do game by game as best as we possibly can and after that we will have time to think.”
