Juventus boss Max Allegri confirms Cristiano Ronaldo will make Serie A debut at Chievo Verona on Saturday

Cristiano Ronaldo will make his much-awaited debut for Juventus on Saturday.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner became the most expensive player in Italian football history when he signed from Real Madrid for €100m in July and is seen by Juve as the final piece in a jigsaw that they believe could take them to Champions League glory once again after falling at the final hurdle in recent seasons.

Ronaldo, 33, became the most expensive signing ever made over the age of 30 when he signed for Juve but has promised that he has plenty more in the tank.

And Max Allegri, his manager in Turin, is looking forward to seeing the Portugal skipper make his debut in the famous Bianconeri.

"Cristiano Ronaldo will make his Serie A debut for us tomorrow," Allegri said on Friday.

"Confirmed starters are Cristiano, [Wojciech] Szczesny, [Giorgio] Chiellini, [Miralem] Pjanic, [Joao] Cancelo and Alex Sandro.

"Cristiano is no ordinary footballer. His career statistics are testament to that. He brings added value to our team, but we must not rest on our laurels and believe that we'll win games just because we have him on our side.

"This is my fifth season at Juventus and I'm very happy here. I enjoy  an excellent relationship with the club. The squad had improved a lot, as has our self-confidence in Europe."
