Juventus and Barcelona have reached an agreement for the summer transfer of Miralem Pjanic.
That's according to reports in Spain.
Sport, as per Football Italia, claim the Serie A giants have reportedly agreed to pay Barcelona €25m (£22.3m) plus Pjanic and Mattia De Sciglio for right-back Nelson Semedo.
In addition, the report states the two teams have reached ‘an agreement in principle’ for the trio to swap clubs at the start of next season.
It is also claimed that Semedo and Juve are ‘hours away’ from agreeing terms, while Pjanic and De Sciglio have already committed to joining the Catalans.
Pjanic had hinted at leaving Juventus last summer and it would appear an exit is on the cards.
"Yes, everything is possible. It's been eight years I've been in Italy," Pjanic told Goal last year. "I'm at a very big club. We must find an agreement [with Juventus] but I don't think about all that right now. I just think about finishing my season.
"We'll see what happens during the holidays, but I respect this club and we have good players there. I can say my aim for the next few years is to win the Champions League.
"With my family, I feel good in Italy. The country lives football and as a player you live well there. You see the difference with France, for example. It's good to live."
Reports of this swap deal is unlikely to concern Chelsea head coach Frank Lampard despite his side being linked with a move for Pjanic.
A straight swap for Jorginho has been mooted this week, but as revealed by football.london Lampard lacked any genuine interest in the Bosnia and Herzegovina midfielder, so a swap deal was unlikely.
However, Juve's interest in the Italian could increase ahead of the summer window and Maurizio Sarri - who has worked with the Chelsea no.5 in west London as well as at Napoli - would need a direct replacement for Pjanic.
Furthermore, the Blues have a number of options to fill any void created by Jorginho.
Billy Gilmour's emergence means that there is a growing feeling that he will be the long-term solution.
Meanwhile, Mateo Kovacic can fill in as a defensive midfielder, Reece James excelled in that role while out on loan and Ethan Ampadu, seeing out the end of his spell at RB Leipzig, is arguably more impressive there than at centre-back.
