Justin Timberlake reveals his favourite Girl Scout cookie as he weighs in on 'contentious' debate

Justin Timberlake has weighed in on the debate over the best Girl Scout cookie, revealing that he is team Samoas.

The singer shared his thoughts regarding Samoas or Thin Mints on Instagram, where he posted two short videos with the caption: “Samoas vs Thin Mints… FOOD FOR THOUGHT. Double tap for DOUBLE SAMOAS. Comment for Thin Mints.”

In the first clip, the 39-year-old picks up a Samoa and says: “This one is for the Girl Scouts of America. We support you,” before biting into the chocolate and coconut cookie.

“Oh, do we support you!” Timberlake adds after trying the cookie.

The second clip sees the singer pondering the idea of starting a survey so others can weigh in on the debate.

“I know everybody automatically thinks about Thin Mints when they think of Girl Scout cookies,” Timberlake can be heard telling his team.

However, the Say Something singer ultimately concludes that he prefers Samoas because he “loves coconut”.

“Samoas are my tip-top,” he adds.

The videos prompted singer Miguel to disagree with the star in the comments, where he wrote: “Frozen Thin Mints all day bro.”

Timberlake is not the first celebrity to join the "contentious" debate. Last week, Reese Witherspoon revealed that she is “#teamthinmints” with a boomerang of herself pouring a box of the chocolate and peppermint cookies onto a plate.

She captioned the clip: “Just doing my part to support the dreams of young female entrepreneurs…”
