Justin Houston could provide option at OLB for Titans

With the mid-March NFL free agency period imminent, the Tennessee Titans look to fill their need at edge rusher, among other positions.

While there are a handful of competent options available, one to specifically consider is a recently released Justin Houston. At 30, the former Georgia Bulldog still has many seasons of football left in him.

The only real downside is Houston’s lack of action recently, as he hasn’t played a complete season since 2014.

He proved effective against both the ground and the passing game that year though, racking up a total of 22 sacks. If Houston can reach this level of impact once more, the team that acquires him will receive a major boost on defense.

On his career, Houston totals 382 combined tackles, 38.5 sacks, one safety, 32 passes defensed and four interceptions over 102 games.

Granted that Houston isn’t asking for anything outlandish, he could be a reasonable addition to the Titans’ roster in 2019.

Only time will tell if general manager Jon Robinson is up to bringing him to Nashville, though.
