For more than a decade, the Bears have been dominated by Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who is 20-5 against Chicago. The hope is that changes with the addition of Justin Fields, who the Bears hope rewrites the quarterback narrative — and Bears-Packers rivalry — in Chicago.
As Fields prepares for his first game in the NFL’s most historic rivalry, he’s aware of the significance of the rivalry, especially having played in college football’s biggest rivalry with Michigan-Ohio State. But he’s focused on business as usual.
While a lot of the storylines will center around Fields vs. Rodgers, Fields doesn’t look at it like a matchup between him and Rodgers. Fields is going to do whatever it takes to help his win — whether that’s handing the ball off or throwing it a bunch.
“My job is to win,” Fields told reporters Wednesday. “My job isn’t to be better than any quarterback. As long as we win, I’m doing my job the right way.”

The Bears haven’t asked Fields to do a lot through his first three starts, leaning primarily on a strong run game. While Damien Williams and Khalil Herbert could very well find similar success Sunday, if the Bears defense struggles against Rodgers, we could see a pass-happy attack with Fields.
Fields will become the 20th different starting quarterback the Bears have used against the Packers dating back to 1992. And the hope is it stops with Fields…for a long time.
