Ohio State got to get back on the gridiron Saturday after watching two games in three weeks be canceled because of coronavirus outbreaks. One because of issues at Maryland, and one because of rising cases on its own campus.
To say that the Buckeyes looked impressive would be an understatement. OSU brought a short-handed crew into East Lansing and thoroughly whipped Michigan State on the way to a 52-12 route. And because of it, the Big Ten has recognized a couple of OSU players for their contributions to the win.
Quarterback Justin Fields (you know that guy right?) was recognized as the Big Ten’s Offensive Player of the Week, and punter Drue Chrisman was awarded the Special Teams Player of the Week.

Fields didn’t sling the ball all over the yard as we’ve seen in weeks past, but he still accounted for over 300 yards of offense because he got the legs warmed up a bit in East Lansing. Fields still totaled 199 yards and two touchdowns through the air, but also chipped in another 104 yards and a couple of more touchdowns on the ground.

As far as Chrisman goes, he’s taken a liking to East Lansing. Two years ago he was named Player of the Game for dropping several punts inside the ten-yard line, and he had another great performance Saturday with three punts inside the 20-yard line and exactly zero return yards.
