Justin Fields delivers epic performance, Ohio State upends Clemson

After his performance Friday night, nobody should ever doubt the talent, or toughness, of Justin Fields.

The talented quarterback played through a painful injury sustained in the second quarter, throwing for six touchdowns in Ohio State’s 49-28 victory over Clemson in the Sugar Bowl, leading the Buckeyes to the National Championship Game.

Fields took a crushing his to his midsection late in the first half, and was clearly in pain throughout the rest of the game, at one point even struggling to get onto the exercise bike on the sidelines between drives.

Even so, Fields completed 22 of 28 passes for 385 yards and the six scores, adding 42 yards on the ground.

The win sets up a date with Alabama in the national title game, and another chance for Fields to prove his mettle for NFL decision-makers.
