Justin Edinburgh rushed to hospital after former Newport County boss 'unexpectedly falls ill'

Former Newport County manager Justin Edinburgh has been taken to hospital after being taken ill unexpectedly on Monday.

Edinburgh is currently manager of Leyton Orient, with his current club confirming the news in a statement.

No further information has been released at this time.

The statement read: "Leyton Orient can confirm Head Coach Justin Edinburgh was taken to a local Hospital on Monday morning after being taken ill unexpectedly.

"The Club will be making no further comment at this time and requests that the family's privacy is respected."

Edinburgh had travelled to Spain at the weekend to watch former club Tottenham Hotspur in the Champions League final with friends.

The 49-year-old was in charge at Rodney Parade between 2011 and 2015 - leading them to a FA Trophy final and the Football League.
