Justin Bieber, Stormzy, Eminem and more: assessing who could join Ed Sheeran onstage in Leeds

It's not long until Ed Sheeran plays two huge gigs at Roundhay Park, and on Friday the singer released a huge new album.

No.6 Collaborations Project features some of the biggest names in music, including Cardi B, Stormzy, Justin Bieber and Eminem.

Lewis Capaldi and The Darkness are the support acts for the massive gigs, but will Sheeran invite any of his famous mates to join him onstage?

After all, he has collaborated with dozens of the biggest names in music in recent years.

We took look at some of the possible names in the mix and assessed how likely it is that they will make an appearance with the star this August.

Scroll down to read about some of the big names that might join Sheeran onstage in Leeds.

Stormzy

At the absolute peak of his powers at the moment, we imagine that Stormzy is still riding the wave of an amazing experience headlining at Glastonbury earlier this month.

The South London rap phenomenon partners up with Sheeran on his new collaborations album for a track called Take Me Back to London, and at Glastonbury said he had wanted to bring on Sheeran to sing his hit song 'Shape of You', yet the singer was on tour at the time.

So, the chances of Stormzy making an appearance are pretty high then?

The only issue is that Stormzy plays at PUKKELPOP 2019 in Belgium on Friday, August 16, the same night as Sheeran's first gig in Leeds. It's not impossible that he will fly back for the second night, but it does make it more complicated

Likelihood rating: 5/10

Justin Bieber

Although two very different artists, Sheeran and Bieber teamed up for smash hit 'I Don't Care' earlier this year - the song is another one that appears on Sheeran's new album.

This is undoubtedly the partnership that would seriously excite the Leeds crowd, but can Sheeran persuade the 'What Do You Mean?' star to pitch up in Yorkshire for a few days? We're not convinced.

Likelihood rating: 3/10

J Hus

One of most talented and interesting British rappers around at the moment, J Hus appears with Young Thug on 'Feels', another big track on Sheeran's new album.

In April shortly after his release from prison J Hus joined Drake onstage at London's O2 to perform hit single 'Did You See'.

He doesn't have to travel across the Atlantic and has form in joining huge stars onstage, so we'll file J Hus under 'one to watch'.

Likelihood rating: 7/10

Eminem

Eminem has headlined Leeds Festival in the past (Jeremy Deputat/PA Wire)

Eminem certainly knows Leeds well enough - he is, after all, a previous Leeds Festival headliner.

'Slim Shady' has previously collaborated with Sheeran for 'River' and the pair teamed up again for 'Remember the Name', a track on No.6 Collaborations Project which also features 50 Cent.

Would Eminem fancy another journey to Leeds? We'll put this one in the maybe pile.

Likelihood rating: 4/10

Dave

Dave provided one of the highlights of Glastonbury when he brought young fan Alex Mann onstage to help him with his song 'Thiago Silva'.

The South London rapper features on Sheeran's new song 'Nothing On You', so, could he feature at Roundhay Park?

Dave is also on the bill for Leeds Festival, it could be a nice Yorkshire warm-up show for him!

Likelihood rating: 6/10

Khalid

Popular for hit songs Talk, Better and Young Dumb & Broke, Khalid joined up with Sheeran for 'Beautiful People'.

The American singer announced a massive First Direct Arena show for September, so could he arrive in the UK a few weeks early and join Sheeran onstage?

Unfortunately, he is down for two gigs in Florida the weekend of August 16/17, so this one is a no-go.

Likelihood rating: 0/10
