Justin Bieber admits he became 'manufactured' star in new interview alongside wife Hailey Baldwin

Justin Bieber has admitted that an early rise to fame made him “very arrogant and cocky” in a brand new interview.

The Canadian singer, who hasn’t released an album since 2015, is the cover interview on the latest issue of Vogue and reflected upon his career, which began when he was just 13 under the guidance of talent manager, Scooter Braun.

“I was real at first and then I was manufactured as, slowly, they just took more and more control,” Bieber said, adding: “I started really feeling myself too much: “people love me, I’m the shit” – that’s honestly what I thought. I got very arrogant and cocky. I was wearing sunglasses inside.”

Explaining his hiatus from releasing new music save for some collaborations, including DJ Khaled, Bieber said: “Just thinking about music stresses me out.”

He continued: “I’ve been successful since I was 13, so I didn’t really have a chance to find who I was apart from what I did. I just needed some time to evaluate myself: who I am, what I want out of my life, my relationships, who I want to be – stuff that when you’re so immersed in the music business you kind of lose sight of.”

Bieber, who turns 25 next month, was interviewed with his wife Hailey Baldwin and the pair revealed they were celibate until their marriage in 2018.

“I wanted to rededicate myself to God in that way because I really felt it was better for the condition of my soul,” Bieber said. “And I believe that God blessed me with Hailey as a result. There are perks. You get rewarded for good behaviour.”
