Justice was a washout at a Scots court yesterday - after cases had to be postponed because the building flooded.
Cases had to be postponed after the cells at Paisley Sheriff Court filled with water following the weekend's downpours.
The area, where prisoners on remand, in police custody or serving other jail terms are held before appearing in the dock, is manned by staff from security firm GEOAmey.
GEOAmey employees are handcuffed to accused persons and ferry the suspects to and from the cells.
They also have to take people into custody when they are remanded or jailed if they've been on bail, and look after them whilst they are in the building.
But the cell area was left as a no-go zone due to the flooding, and a number of cases could not be dealt with as a result.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service said: "Following an influx of water into the cells area of Paisley Sheriff Court, prisoners could not be accommodated in the unit on Monday, October 18.
"Custody cases were held virtually from other custody facilities with three deferred matters being adjourned to further diets.
"Work is continuing to bring the cells unit back to normal operation as quickly as possible."
A GEOAmey spokesperson said: "Following the heavy rainfall in the area, there was a minor flood in the cells area at Paisley Sheriff Court.
"There was no risk to anyone at any time."
