She may be gone, but she certainly isn't forgotten. Lesley Douglas, erstwhile Radio 2 controller and the world's number one Bruce Springsteen fan got a touching little tribute from presenter Aled Jones on yesterday's Good Morning Sunday. Ending his programme with the news that Bruce Springsteen was going to headline Glastonbury this year, Jones said: "I know a lady who'll be in the front row. Morning to you, Lesley". It's at about 1:55mins here. Jones's sign-off also included a Lenten homily, which noted that this year marks the 200th anniversary of the birth of Louis Braille and to that end read the famous quote from the inspirational deaf and blind Braille user Helen Keller: "Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved." Now Lesley, who joined Universal Music after resigning over what she has called the "horrible" circumstances of Sachsgate, would probably know all about that.
