'Just our luck' - Chelsea fans are gutted about N'Golo Kante's latest injury concern

Chelsea midfielder N'Golo Kante looks to have suffered another injury set back.

Having missed half of the Blues' Premier League games this season, the Frenchman was withdrawn from the starting lineup for France's European qualifier against Iceland after suffering an injury during the warm up.

Kante played through the pain barrier in order to help Chelsea lift the Europa League title at the end of last season, but has since been struggling to shake off a hamstring injury that has kept him out of four of the Blues eight league matches.

The 28-year-old made a goalscoring return to action in Chelsea's 4-1 win over Southampton before the international break, and looked to have shaken off the injury when he was named in Didier Deschamps latest France squad.

Blues' head coach Frank Lampard spoke of carefully managing the midfielder.

"That's something we will have to watch over the next 24 or 48 hours to make sure he is still on a semi-recovery as they all are from the trip to Lille and the game," Lampard said. "The fact he hasn’t played much obviously.

"In terms of the injury, he is fine. There is no fall out from that from the game. It is just making sure he is fit and ready and that’s a call for myself."

However, his withdrawal from the squad has now left Chelsea fans cursing their luck, with some not too pleased with the French FA at selecting the player for international duty.

Chelsea supporters will be hoping that his withdrawal was just precautionary and that Kante will be available for their Premier League encounter with Newcastle after the international break.
