Landing a big movie role is considered a breakthrough, but success didn't immediately lead to more chances for actress Inde Navarrette. Inde Navarrette reveals life after Obsession

In a recent interview with Complex News, Navarrette reflected on one of the toughest periods of her professional life. Although she continued auditioning consistently after filming Obsession, the opportunities simply were not turning into bookings.

"I was auditioning, I was doing everything, just nothing was sticking," she said. "I wanted to pay rent and I wanted to do things. So I was walking dogs, I was streaming, doing everything I could."

The actress explained that the dry spell lasted about a year and a half, forcing her to rethink how she earned a living while remaining committed to acting. Rather than stepping away from the industry, she balanced auditions with side jobs that allowed her to stay financially stable.

Navarrette said acting had always been her primary goal, but working on Superman & Lois made it difficult to explore additional projects because of the show's production schedule. Once that chapter ended, she devoted herself to finding new opportunities, even when success did not come as quickly as she had hoped.

Her story reflects a reality many performers experience behind the scenes. Even after starring in high-profile productions, steady work is never guaranteed. Persistence often becomes just as important as talent.

Inde Navarrette found a creative outlet through streaming

While searching for her next acting role, Navarrette turned to another passion: gaming.

She revealed that she built her own gaming PC in 2022 after years of watching creators such as Jacksepticeye, Jenna Marbles, and later Vanillamace. Inspired by their content, she decided to try streaming herself.

"I loved streaming and watching and then I would have so much fun playing video games to the point where I was like, 'I'm doing this by myself in my room. Why don't I try?'" she said.

Although streaming became an enjoyable creative outlet, she admitted that acting remains her priority.

"I would still love to do it, but I don't have time."

Navarrette also looked back on the emotional audition process for Obsession. She recalled struggling during an early Zoom audition because she felt disconnected from her emotions, something that made it difficult to fully understand her character.

"I think I was in a space personally where I was so shut off from my own emotions, and with Nikki, you need all of them,” she explained.

By the time she reached the final chemistry read, her mindset had changed.

“If I have this opportunity, I'm doing everything that I possibly can,” she recalled.

It was a resolve that paid off in the end. In retrospect, Navarrette’s career is a reminder that most careers don’t go in a straight line. Behind the success stories there is failure, uncertainty and the test of a person's commitment. Those challenges only strengthened Navarrette's resolve to forge ahead, she said.
