Just how successful was Nashville’s 2019 NFL Draft?

The city of Nashville undoubtedly made the 2019 NFL Draft one which will never be forgotten.

But just how successful was the event?

The turnout was one of the most impressive aspects of it all.

Over the course of its three days, the draft drew a record-setting crowd of 600,000 people, along with a record television audience of 47.5 million. It was also broadcast worldwide in a record 115 countries.

A good deal of those in attendance traveled to be there, as a release from the NFL and the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp found that 54 percent of attendees surveyed were visitors, and 46 percent were local.

Per the Titans official website, the event also had its best year in history in regards to direct spending.

“On Wednesday, the NFL and the Nashville Convention & Visitors Corp announced this year’s NFL Draft generated a record $133 million in direct spending — a 79 percent increase over the $74 million at the 2018 Dallas event.

The economic impact was another record-breaker at $224 million, also a 79 percent increase over the $125 million in 2018.”

While the city is ready to do it all over again, that won’t happen for at least another couple of years. The 2020, 2021 and 2023 locations have already been determined and were released on Wednesday.

The location of 2022’s scene remains to be announced, and it will be interesting to see if Nashville gets another chance to host this soon in the future.
