Just Eat gives 10% discount to customers as dublinbikes celebrates 10th anniversary of popular cycling scheme

The dublinbikes scheme celebrates its 10th anniversary today and Just Eat are giving all customers 10% off if they pay by card.

It launched on 13 September 2009 and saw more than 11,000 people apply to join within its first two weeks.

When the service began as dublinbikes in 2009 there were 450 bicycles and 40 stations in Dublin city centre.

Today it is now JustEat dublinbikes and there are now 1,600 bicycles available at 116 stations.

Currently there are 66,940 active annual subscribers and to date more than 28 million journeys have been made on the bikes in the capital.

Owen Keegan, Chief Executive of Dublin City Council said: “There was a degree of uncertainty to its success at the time as it was the first public bike scheme in Ireland.

"It turned out that none of those concerns were justified, the scheme has been very well received by the people of Dublin from the beginning.

"Dublin City Council would like to thank all of the subscribers who have embraced this scheme as a way to get around the city and have made dublinbikes a successful part of Dublin life over the last ten years.”

To take advantage of the 10% discount on Just Eat, customers must pay by card on the app today 13 September 2019 by midnight.
