Just Eat driver making 'honest living' attacked and robbed near McDonald's

A Just Eat delivery driver was attacked while trying to make an 'honest living.'

Police have confirmed they were called to reports that a gang had robbed and attacked a delivery rider at around 9.15pm on Saturday , March 12. The attack took place near Walton Road McDonald's, at the junction of Salop Way and Tetlow Way.

The gang of men allegedly assaulted the man, before stealing his electric bike and attacking him again. They then left the scene, leaving the man 'very shaken' by the incident.

The victim, a 23-year-old man, had minor injuries which didn’t need medical treatment. Extensive CCTV and witness enquiries have been conducted, and detectives have now issued a CCTV image of two males they believe could assist in their investigation.

Detectives believe the two people pictured in the CCTV images may have information about the robbery and assault.

Detective Inspector Neil Dillon said: "This was a cowardly attack for the victim to have experienced which happened while he was trying to make an honest living. He is receiving the full support of officers.

"This incident took place near McDonalds on Walton Road, and I urge anyone who saw the incident or noticed something suspicious around that time which may have been captured on dashcam footage then please contact us."
