Just desserts as Motherwell diner finally celebrates opening after lengthy delay

A Motherwell dessert shop celebrated its grand launch with a special open day.

Whoops, on Brandon Parade, opened last year but was unable to have a proper celebration because of restrictions.

However, Saturday, June 5, saw a range of influencers and customers invited to the restaurant to try out its sweet menu and get a proper feel for the new dessert shop.

Whoops is an expanding chain that first opened in Wishaw, followed by this new flagship premises in Motherwell. Another branch is scheduled to open in Paisley later in the year.

On hand at the busy launch event was a DJ, an inflatable light-up photo booth, balloons and a photographer.

Whoops is owned by Motherwell North councillor Shahid Farooq, and he hopes the new store will show there is a potential for new business in Motherwell, despite the closure of many outlets in recent years.
