WOW! Just Binnie is a miracle of a book. One you'll never forget. This girl has no idea that a horrible change is about to swoop round the corner and affect her life DRAMTICALLY! So, Binnie has to grow up very fast.
Dick King-Smith must have the mind of a genius; all his ideas fit in like a jigsaw puzzle. He doesn't just chuck his ideas in, he places them at the right times.
Binnie is a life-saver to her family, but can't save them all. Unfortunately things don't go the way Binnie hoped her life to turn out. Dick King-Smith's use of language really pulls the reader in, so that they don't want to put the book down.
I was fascinated by the two events he based the story around; ones that changed our history by a big jump (it really worked).
