'Just be your fabulous best': How getting dumped turned Dianne into an Instagram sensation

When Dianne Laurance's marriage broke down after 26 years, she decided she would not go down with it.

Her husband had just left her for a younger woman, on top of several other life issues that had just been dumped on her.

"I just had seven life-changing dumps in a very short period and after each dump I would jump back and get back into life," Ms Laurance said.

"Friends would say 'how are you doing it? 'You're so happy, you're back into life again'.

"I thought, 'Well, I'm going to start influencing people'."

She turned to social media site Instagram and began the Dumped Wife's Revenge page.

Over the past three years Ms Laurance has posted almost daily images of her life, mostly from her home in Eagle Bay in Western Australia's south-west.

The images and videos all feature Ms Laurance enjoying every aspect of her life, while encouraging her followers to do the same.

"I think my page gives hope to people," she said.

"People that are going through life-changing dumps, I think it gives them hope that there's life after your dump.

"That you can make a better life and you can always be your fabulous best."

The dumping goes global

In 2018, her inspiration went international when 'out of the blue' she got a call from Vogue in New York.

"She [the journalist] said, 'we want to do this big article on you'," Ms Laurance said.

"'Everyone in the office just loves you and we think you are the only Instagram account that anybody needs', and she did this huge interview."

The article helped boost Ms Laurance's following and she now gets messages from people all over the world.

Ms Laurance receives messages from women that are depressed, but she hopes her pictures and words have helped them to turn their life around.

"Just being your fabulous best and showing life that these dumps are not going to get you down," she said.
