Just after Drew Brees set a new TD record, Tom Brady was ready to top it

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady doesn’t want to let New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees’ touchdown record stand for long. Brees surpassed retired Indianapolis Colts quarterback Peyton Manning, who was the previous owner of the most career passing touchdowns at 539. Brady finished Week 15 with 538, and so he doesn’t want Brees to think his record won’t come with a contest.

“Congrats drew!! Couldn’t be more deserving,” Brady wrote on Twitter on Monday night, just moments after Brees threw his 540th touchdown pass of his career against the Colts. “Passing Peyton in anything is an incredible achievement and your records will be tough to beat! But it’s worth trying.”

Brady’s not bitter — not at all. Right?
