Just 4% of experts picks give Saints a chance against Seahawks

Confidence is low among the NFL cognoscenti, according to the expert picks gathered by NFL Pickwatch. With Drew Brees ruled out for the New Orleans Saints’ Week 3 road game against the Seattle Seahawks, just 4% of experts are giving the Saints a chance to leave Seattle with a victory.

That overwhelming sense of certainty kind of makes sense. The Saints haven’t seen much to like out of Teddy Bridgewater’s limited game appearances, and the other option to fill in for Brees, Taysom Hill, has seemingly played well everywhere except quarterback. Saints coach Sean Payton suggested Bridgewater and Hill could split time a little more evenly than many expect, but there’s no confusing either of them for Brees.

Last week, the experts overwhelmingly favored the Los Angeles Rams over the Saints — though not by this sort of margin. Instead, it’s a very similar consensus to what the Saints received in Week 1 over the Houston Texans; but as we all remember, that game’s final minutes ended up being too close to be comfortable.
