Just 138 positive coronavirus cases recorded in Northern Ireland according to latest daily figures

The number of positive Covid-19 cases on the Department of Health’s daily ‘Dashboard’ has fallen to just 138.

Three people have passed away after testing positive for the virus, figures published on Sunday show.

Over the last seven days 1,198 people have tested postive, compared to 1,596 over the previous seven days, according to statistics published by the Department.

On February 7, the number of positive cases was 334, while on January 7 it was 1,410.

The rate of positive sits today 63.7 per 100,000 people tested over the seven days February 28-March 6, down from 84.8 over the previous seven days.

Deaths due to Covid-19 now sit at 17 over the last seven days, down from 22 over the previous seven days. The total number of deaths, according to Department stats that only include people who previously tested positive for Covid, now stands at 2,075.

Covid patients in ICU beds today number 33 today, compared to 30 yesterday, the Dashboard shows.

Other Covid patients in hospital are taking up 178 beds compared to 193 the previous day. ICU and non ICU beds are at 85% and 88% capacity respectively.
